Weigh In: July 21

Weigh In: 153 lbs, 24.5 % body fat. Patience, Patience... its a long slow road...

The breakdown:
I have lost 3.5 lbs fat AND I have lost 4 lbs of muscle. This is not a good thing. Liat and I are working hard to keep adding muscle, and I am working hard to make sure I am eating what I need to in order to maintain and gain muscle and loose fat. Hang in there....

Oh, dear. I'm meeting with my trainer on Tuesday. Then I, too, shall have the lowdown on my BF percentage. I already know my present weight, which will go to my grave with me. I'll have to con-fab with Liat while I'm there and get some kind of program where I'm not losing muscle with the weight (right now... the issue is, uh, moot).

Hang in there, kiddo....

Thanks, man. Its a tough balance, and i knew i was loosing muscle on my legs just because I am not skiing (my friend Sue and I had this discussion on Winter Legs vs. Summer legs) But I have gained a lot of muscle in my upper body, thank goodness.

I am psyched for you to come out, Liat is fabulous with fast, easy, healthy meals. You do have to cook, and I have trouble with this too when i am crazy busy, but you'll be amazed at how healthy you can eat!!

I am going to start posting recipes on the blog here to help out.

ooOOOOooo... recipes.... I am actually dying to start cooking, since I'm home more now, rather than at the house on Carpenter. It's cheaper, and I really need to become more of a homebody....

I have a little surprise for you. This is a "two-check" week -- paycheck comes on Friday, and I got the rest of my student loan today, which needs to be deposited. But you know what this means, don't you? It means a bit of a boost to the Team Training fund. We shall see how much by tomorrow, when we finish working out our finances (and by "we" I'm referring to the me and the six-week-old kitten that's walking on my keyboard. gvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvv <-this is kittenspeak for something important, but I have no idea what)

XOXO

Wow, Catharine! I saw the jump in the training fund right when I logged on and wondered from whence it came! You fill my heart up!

Hi Kate, I keep checking your blog but you haven't posted in a while. For some reason reading the posts on your blogs is very wonderful. I think, my journey is really tough right now. I wonder what Kate is working through? But there's nothing recent there. This is to be expected, cause I've been WITH you for the past 3 days, you've been busy hanging out with ME! But I still find myself checking your blogs. They represent continuity, honesty, normalcy. I know this is an awful lot of pressure. Just wanted you to know how much I appreciate them, I guess. Love L

Hi, everyone!

First, Catherine, YEAH recipes! This is something that Liat and I have been talking about for a while, so I am excited to get started on it. I think we will start by posting recipes, and then we will try some short video cooking segments.

Second, Wheee! And tell Kitten thanks, I am looking forward to growing the training fund. You have been a lovely supporter, and thank you for that, I am continually blown away by your willingness to give... I know how tight things are, because they are tight all around. So thank you.

Liat: thanks for your comment about checking my blog. I have sort of made it a policy not to post on the weekends, because I try to take that time for my family (although i do sneak off to post occasionally).

I do have LOTS of stuff to post about, so stay tuned this week, and thanks so much for reading. I am glad that reading about my journey helps you with yours, that's actually kind of WHY I started the blog to begin with! I am glad it helps.

Lots of Love,
Kate
