Hello,Anonymous! I think the role of flexion and extension in deep powder is to compact the snow under the ski and then release the ski so it will cross the fall line. It makes you BOUNCE. Also, you can pivot the ski after you stomp it, and if you stay WITH your gear, rather than getting all excited and trying to huck yourself down the hill, you can actually make nice short hoppy turns, which require even MORE flexion and extension movements, including retraction when its what you choose to do. Hmm... that may not have been terribly articulate. Let me know what you think!

Hey KVN, I'll let you know how it goes. I talked with Weems last night, he's had like 17 sessions, and he loves it. I'm nervous, but I'm excited to try it. The heel lift is helping while I ski, but my leg feels funny when I take it out of the boot for sure!
